great app you got there, but there isn't any instruction on how to import a PNG file.

i mean i can import it but it just freezes when I try to load it, there is no specification on what should the PNG be. Like what resolution is it supposed to be? 1024x768 or the mathematical simulation resolution? and how is it actually represented? the alpha channel? black/white color? what format is it supposed to be in? 24-bit? 8-bit?
at least provide a template or something you know.

The png should have a white background, all non-white areas will be interpreted as obstacles. They must not have transparent background. For better results, you should have a 768*1024 file for iPad and 320 × 480 for iPhone or iPod ( otherwise it will still works, but will be distorted).
Please find attached two sample png files for iPad and iPhone.

thanks, got it working.
just wondering why isn't there a difference between different devices. Like why does it run the same on the iPad 2 and iPad 1? Isn't the A5 like 5 times faster in floating point, and 9 times faster in pixel fill rate or whatever?

It does not run the same on iPad 1 and iPad 2. The obstacles resolution is the same, but on iPad 2 the smoke resolution is two times higher (i.e., four times more pixels) than on iPad 1. Simulation is also slightly more accurate on ipad2, although it may be difficult to notice, depending on the scene.

oh, ok, should've guessed that. smoke looks impressive on the iPad 2.

but I think I found a problem, I cannot delete my imported files, I click delete and nothing happens.
