I am not an expert in solutions of the Navier-Stokes equation, but there is a strange behavior with conservation of masses. When I have a box with just a small opening facing against the flow direction, I get continous flow into the box without any chance of the flow to leave it somewhere. Like the fluid is flowing only into the box, but where does it go to?
See the pictures added here. You can clearly see, that the flow just goes into the box.
Some idea?
What about the 3rd dimension? Is the wind tunnel completely solved in 2D or are there assumptions in 3D?
